This will just be some of the little things that we just feel like blogging down for others to enjoy. It may change from time to time. But over all it just things of little importance. But nothing I would write home about.
Antique National Washboard
I picked this up at a local auction Friday Night.
How cool is this very old antique National washboard.
I fell in love with it. I have never seen one quite like this one.

It will be listed on my ebay
I love the old primitives.
Fried Okra & Tomatoes
One thing this family does love and could almost be served every day is my fried okra and tomatoes with onions . It is in abundance this time of year. Okra is coming off and tomatoes are ripen on the vines.
It’s easy to make and very pretty as well.
Just star off with about equals part okra, tomatoes and onions. I have to make a lot for this family. I toss in a few hand fulls of corn meal, 2-4 per skillet full and mix with hands and tumble till the mixture is a little loose. Not so slimy.
This is what mixture looks like before cooked.
Do not worry about the dish being slimy it will cook out. I turn in a deep skillet with enough hot oil as to be able to not let it all stick. Tad of salt and pepper. Cook until the cornmeal cooks into small crumbles. Okra will be tender.
This is the finished product. You have brown cornmeal crumbles that have slightly coated some of the okra & tomatoes and onions and the crumbles to eat along with it .
Try it.
